FERPA Compliance Statement
FindMyWay is designed to be fully compliant with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- ✓No student records are created, maintained, or stored. FindMyWay does not function as a “school official” under FERPA and does not access any student education records.
- ✓No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected. Students do not create accounts, provide names, email addresses, student IDs, or any identifying information.
- ✓Conversations are not stored. All AI coaching conversations exist only during the active browser session and are permanently discarded when the session ends. They cannot be recovered.
- ✓No data is shared with third parties for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose. There is no student data to share.
- ✓No school agreement required. Because FindMyWay does not collect or store student data, schools and districts can recommend it without a data-sharing agreement, memorandum of understanding, or vendor review.
Schools, counselors, and districts may share FindMyWay with students with confidence that no FERPA-protected information is at risk.
What FindMyWay Is
FindMyWay (findmyway.today) is a free AI career exploration tool for high school students. It helps young people explore career pathways through guided conversation with an AI coach. The service is provided by Transform Learning, founded by Jeff Ritter, PhD.
Information We Do NOT Collect
FindMyWay does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or contact information
- Student IDs, school names, or grade levels
- Login credentials (no accounts exist)
- Chat transcripts or conversation history
- Career assessment results or reports
- Location data, IP addresses, or device fingerprints for identification
Information That Is Collected
We collect only minimal, anonymous data to keep the service running:
- Anonymous analytics via Vercel Analytics — page views, general geographic region (country/state level), browser type. This data is aggregated and cannot identify individual users.
- AI conversation data in transit — when you chat with the AI coach, your messages are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API for processing. These messages are processed in real-time and are not stored by FindMyWay. Anthropic’s data retention policies apply to their API service.
Cookies and Tracking
FindMyWay does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting technology. We do not serve ads. We do not sell or share any data with advertisers. Vercel Analytics uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that do not track individual users across sites.
COPPA Compliance
FindMyWay is designed for high school students (typically ages 14–18). Because we do not collect any personal information from users of any age, FindMyWay complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). No parental consent is required because no personal data is collected.
Paid Features
FindMyWay offers optional paid coaching sessions processed through Stripe. If a user chooses to purchase a session, Stripe collects payment information directly. FindMyWay does not see or store credit card numbers. Stripe’s privacy policy governs payment data handling.
Community Board
The FindMyWay community board allows users to voluntarily post comments with a self-chosen display name. These posts are public. Users should not share personally identifiable information in community posts. Posts may be moderated or removed.
Third-Party Services
- Anthropic (Claude API) — processes AI conversations. Anthropic Privacy Policy
- Vercel — hosting and anonymous analytics. Vercel Privacy Policy
- Stripe — payment processing (optional paid features only). Stripe Privacy Policy
Data Security
All connections to FindMyWay are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Because we do not store personal data, there is no database of user information that could be breached.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Our core commitment — no student data collection, no tracking, no data sales — will not change.
